Operation of Safety Systems
BUCKWACKA, QUICSHOOTER, COMBO SERIES,
MINIWACKA & TOMWACKA SAFETY SYSTEMS
Your firearm has an internal transfer bar for a safety system, and
when the firearm is NOT placed in the “COCKED POSITION”
it is in the “SAFE POSITION”.
The firearm is placed in the cocked position by rotating the
hammer back until the sear engages and the hammer stays
locked back in the full “AFT” position.
When the firearm has
been placed in this position, the internal safety transfer bar has
been raised into the “FIRE POSITION”.
The trigger has to be
pulled for the transfer bar to remain in this position and cause
engagement between hammer and firing pin, which causes the
gun to fire.
If the hammer is in the “COCKED POSITION”,
and is accidentally knocked off the “COCKED POSITION”
without the trigger being pulled, the hammer can not engage
with the firing pin and cause an accidental discharge.
Additional safety features designed into these firearms is an
internal locking mechanism which prohibits the action from
being either opened or closed when the hammer has been placed
in the “COCKED POSITION”.
WARNING: When rotating the hammer back to the
“COCKED” position, DO NOT HAVE ANY FINGER
INSIDE THE TRIGGER GUARD!!!
When the hammer is placed in the “COCKED” or
“FIRE” position, pulling the trigger will fi re the gun.
Hammer should always be in the forward “SAFE”
position except when the gun user is actually ready
to fi re the gun, and only then should the hammer be
rotated back to the cocked, “FIRE” position.
Illustrations below shows firearm in both of these positions.

AMMUNITION
BLACK POWDER, BLACK MAG 3, PYRODEX
PRODUCTS OR OTHER APPROVED SUBSTITUTES
ONLY
The MDM fi rearms are single shot muzzleloading percussion
guns intended solely for use with Black Mag 3, Black Powder,
or Pyrodex products.
None of these firearms should ever, under
any circumstances, be loaded with any type of smokeless
powder as the result could be danger to the gun and injury
to the shooter or bystanders.
Be aware that certain smokeless
powders may appear black in color even though they are not
Black Powder, Black Mag 3 or Pyrodex products.
Never use
any powder that you are not certain is actually one of these
approved powders.
The best way to be sure of this is to only use
clearly marked original cans of Black Powder, Black Mag 3 or
Pyrodex products.
The ammunition components required for these fi rearms consist
of an ignition source, a pre-measured powder charge and a
projectile of proper caliber.
In the case of our TOMWACKA
shotgun model you will be using a payload of pellets, not a
solid projectile.
Along with this payload of pellets you should
also be using over powder & over shot wads.
